Laslett England’s scarves, including this latest design, support the work of mental health charity Mind
as featured in the Weekend Financial Times, How to Spend It
As Laslett England’s name spells out loud and proud, the scarf and pocket square brand is a thoroughly English affair. Its owner, textile designer Melanie Laslett, designs all her products at her studio in Hastings and they are digitally printed in Macclesfield by RA Smart, whose work has a global following.
She creates scarves (from £130), neckerchiefs (from £75), bandanas (from £95) and pocket squares (from £45), and takes inspiration for many of these from vintage designs and found objects. Her latest piece is the diamond-shaped, silk crepe de Chine Riviera Diamond scarf (£140, in scarlet or azure), which evokes the spirit of the Roaring Twenties and is designed to be draped around the neck with the pointed ends hanging loose. Laslett donates 10 per cent of her proceeds from the sale of her scarves to the mental health charity Mind.
